useful phrases for phone conversations in spanish

When learning a new language, there are many ways to measure or ‘test’ one’s progress. One of the most practical ways is to see how you perform in real-life situations, and making a phone call is definitely one of them.

For many Spanish learners, no matter your level, having to speak on the phone is quite an intimidating thing to do. This is mostly because you cannot rely on any visual cues or body language to help you understand or get your point across. You have to solely rely on your speaking and listening skills, using the right conjugation and pronunciation so the other side can understand what you are asking for. Not to mention, the talking pace and different accents to adapt to. It is no doubt a good challenge, and we always encourage our students to pick up the phone to order delivery, rather than using any application, so they can practice, learn from the experience and then improve.
