Questions about Malbec y Mesa
Do I need to speak Spanish before I start Malbec y Mesa?
Yes, a little. Malbec y Mesa is for learners at level A2 or higher, which means you can already handle simple everyday conversations. If you are not sure of your level, take the free Vamos Academy level test at go.vamospanish.live/level-test before you book.
Which Spanish does the course teach, Argentine or Spain?
Both. Malbec y Mesa uses Argentine Spanish as its base, because the wine content centres on Mendoza and Salta, and it also teaches the words used in Spain. Where Mexican Spanish is different, for example "mesero" for waiter or "término medio" for medium, the lessons point it out too.
Is wine served or tasted during the course?
No. Malbec y Mesa is an online language course, and no alcohol is served or promised. You learn the vocabulary and phrases used to describe, recommend and pair wine. The course is for adult learners only.
What do I get at the end of the course?
Students who complete the 20 hours receive a Vamos Academy certificate of completion. It shows that you finished the course. It is not a licence, a sommelier qualification or an official certification.
